Share Link - 24 Hours

More, Better, Faster Collaboration

The Share Link feature allows you to invite dental professionals — whether or not they have a Smilecloud account — to collaborate on a case for a limited time (24 hours) as guests.

How Does It Work?

✅ Generate and Share the Invitation

When you invite a dental professional to a case:

  • A Team-Up invitation and a unique guest link are created.

You can choose to:

  • Send the invite via email, or
  • Copy the link and share it via any messaging or social platform.

✅ Accessing the Case as an Invitee

When the invitee clicks on the shared link, they will land on a page offering two options, depending on their Smilecloud account status:

  • If the invitee has a Smilecloud account: They can click “Login” to join the case using their existing account.
  • Or, they may choose to join as a guest by following the instructions at the top of the page.

 

If the invitee does not have a Smilecloud account:

  • They can create one by clicking “Create my own account” to join as a regular user.
  • Or, they may choose to join as a guest, using the guest instructions provided.

✅ Verifying Guest Access

If the invitee chooses Guest Access: They must click “Send verification code.”

  • A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to their email (valid for 5 minutes).
  • After entering the OTP, they will be granted access to the case.

Once verified, the guest is redirected directly to the case they were invited to.

🎯What Can Guests Do?

Guests have access to most collaboration tools — with a few limitations:

🚫 Guests cannot:

  • Invite other dentists to the case
  • Remove case team members (except themselves)
  • Delete documentation files or galleries
  • Create or delete projects
  • Modify patient-related information
  • View or change subscription-related details
  • Access any other cases they may have been invited to previously

🎯Guest Statuses in the Case Team List

Guests are listed in the Case Team section with one of the following statuses:

  • Pending – Invitation sent but not yet accepted

Tip: Hover over the status to copy and resend the invite link.

  • Active – The guest has accepted the invite and currently has access

Tip: Hover to see how much time remains from their 24-hour access period.

  • Expired – The 24-hour guest access window has ended. The guest no longer has access to the case.

Tip: Generate a new link if you need the guest to join the case again.

The Share Link feature is a fast, flexible way to collaborate with peers — even those outside the Smilecloud ecosystem. It’s designed to maintain security and privacy while allowing powerful short-term teamwork on a case.
