Registration Methods and Password Management

Understand your registration method

When creating your Smilecloud account, you can choose between different registration methods. This gives you the flexibility to sign in using the option that best suits your workflow and security preferences.

Registration Methods

You can register and log in to Smilecloud in one of the following ways:

šŸ”‘ Email + Password

  • Create an account with your email address and set a unique password.
  • This option allows you to reset your password directly through Smilecloud if needed.

šŸ Apple ID Login

When you choose ā€œContinue with Appleā€ to sign up, Smilecloud does not create a separate password for you. Instead:

  • Your Smilecloud account is securely linked to your Apple ID.
  • Apple creates a special anonymous ID that connects you to Smilecloud (so your email address may even be hidden if you choose ā€œHide My Emailā€).
  • Because you never set a password with Smilecloud, there is no ā€œreset passwordā€ option here.
  • If you ever need to update your login details, you must do this directly in your Apple ID settings (on your iPhone, Mac, or via Apple’s website).

šŸ‘‰ Think of it like this: Apple is holding the keys to your Smilecloud door. Smilecloud never sees the key — so if you lose it, you must ask Apple for a new one.

šŸ”µ Google Login

When you choose ā€œContinue with Googleā€ to sign up, Smilecloud also does not create a separate password. Instead:

  • Your Smilecloud account is connected to your Google Account (the same one you use for Gmail, Google Drive, or YouTube).
  • Login is handled through Google’s secure authentication system.
  • Since no Smilecloud password was created, you will not see a ā€œreset passwordā€ option in Smilecloud.
  • To change your password, you need to update it through your Google Account settings (Google’s account page).

šŸ‘‰ Think of it like this: Google is the gatekeeper. Smilecloud just checks with Google that it’s really you, but never keeps your password.

🟢 Straumann Login

When you choose ā€œContinue with Straumannā€ to sign up, Smilecloud connects your account through the Straumann AXS platform.

  • Your Smilecloud account is linked directly to your Straumann AXS login.
  • Smilecloud never creates or stores a separate password for you.
  • Authentication (proving your identity) is handled securely by Straumann’s system.
  • Since no Smilecloud password exists, there is no ā€œreset passwordā€ option in Smilecloud.
  • If you need to update or reset your password, you must do so through your Straumann AXS account settings.

šŸ‘‰ Think of it like this: Straumann is the gatekeeper. Smilecloud just checks with Straumann that it’s really you, but never manages your password.

āœ… Summary of Login Methods
