Registration Methods and Password Management
When creating your Smilecloud account, you can choose between different registration methods. This gives you the flexibility to sign in using the option that best suits your workflow and security preferences.
Registration Methods
You can register and log in to Smilecloud in one of the following ways:
š Email + Password
- Create an account with your email address and set a unique password.
- This option allows you to reset your password directly through Smilecloud if needed.
š Apple ID Login
When you choose āContinue with Appleā to sign up, Smilecloud does not create a separate password for you. Instead:
- Your Smilecloud account is securely linked to your Apple ID.
- Apple creates a special anonymous ID that connects you to Smilecloud (so your email address may even be hidden if you choose āHide My Emailā).
- Because you never set a password with Smilecloud, there is no āreset passwordā option here.
- If you ever need to update your login details, you must do this directly in your Apple ID settings (on your iPhone, Mac, or via Appleās website).
š Think of it like this: Apple is holding the keys to your Smilecloud door. Smilecloud never sees the key ā so if you lose it, you must ask Apple for a new one.
šµ Google Login
When you choose āContinue with Googleā to sign up, Smilecloud also does not create a separate password. Instead:
- Your Smilecloud account is connected to your Google Account (the same one you use for Gmail, Google Drive, or YouTube).
- Login is handled through Googleās secure authentication system.
- Since no Smilecloud password was created, you will not see a āreset passwordā option in Smilecloud.
- To change your password, you need to update it through your Google Account settings (Googleās account page).
š Think of it like this: Google is the gatekeeper. Smilecloud just checks with Google that itās really you, but never keeps your password.
š¢ Straumann Login
When you choose āContinue with Straumannā to sign up, Smilecloud connects your account through the Straumann AXS platform.
- Your Smilecloud account is linked directly to your Straumann AXS login.
- Smilecloud never creates or stores a separate password for you.
- Authentication (proving your identity) is handled securely by Straumannās system.
- Since no Smilecloud password exists, there is no āreset passwordā option in Smilecloud.
- If you need to update or reset your password, you must do so through your Straumann AXS account settings.
š Think of it like this: Straumann is the gatekeeper. Smilecloud just checks with Straumann that itās really you, but never manages your password.
