3D Annotations: Add Visual Feedback Directly to 3D Models

3D Annotations make it easier to communicate clearly when reviewing scans, designs, and other 3D files in Smilecloud. Instead of describing an area in a separate message, you can mark it directly on the model and add the necessary context.

Create a 3D annotation

1. Open the 3D scene you want to review.
2. Select the 3D Annotations tool.
3. Choose the annotation colour and brush size.
4. Draw directly on the area you want to highlight.
5. Add a note and mention a collaborator when needed.
6. Click Save.

The annotation is automatically added to Team Chat together with a preview of the scene. Selecting the annotation takes collaborators back to the corresponding 3D view, allowing them to immediately understand the location and context of your feedback.

Edit or remove an annotation

Use the annotation options to update the note, modify the highlighted area, or delete the annotation.

This keeps feedback connected to the model and reduces the need for separate screenshots or lengthy explanations.
