Stack

Stack is the first step of Blueprint. Here you will be able to layer multiple sets of data. The advantage is that with more data, you get more value. You can start with as little as a portrait and an upper scan or build up a complete set by adding:

  • lower scan
  • CBCT
  • Modjaw recorded motion - XML files

*Just so you know, the upper scan must reflect the same situation as the portrait.

Add Upper Scans

If the Blueprint started from a Smile Design -> the portrait is already present in the stack, and you will be prompted to add an Intraoral Upper Scan. Optionally you can other files to your stack (lower scan, CBCT and Motion)

Once the scan is uploaded, it will be aligned automatically with the portrait.

Or, you can align it Manually  by placing at least 4 corresponding points:

Add CBCT

When adding CBCT, you can segment the CBCT and fuse it with the segmented intraoral scan. Or you can just add the CBCT (without segmentation) - and align it manually by adding at least 3 corresponding points.

Load Motion

The scans you added to stack and the .xml recorded motion file must be corresponding to the same session. Do not use motion which was recorded using a different set of scans.

Additional Portraits, Scans or CBCT

When starting a Blueprint directly from projects, you must also upload a portrait image. The portrait can be replaced, or, from the + button, you can add additional face pictures from multiple angles:

The first set of scans and or CBCT are automatically segmented. You can also add additional upper scans, lower scans or CBCTs from the + button.

Manual Alignment

When adding additional scans or CBCT, you will use the manual alignment tool. To align two files, place at least 3 corresponding points with mouse clicks.

Your stack is now complete.

FAQ: Can I use an intra-oral picture?

No. You must always use a portrait picture with as much visibility as possible. If the patient does not have much display, you can use portraits with retractors and even a portrait from a side angle.
